Ryan’s two great passions have always been art and the outdoors. While investigating the fine arts program at Utah State University, he discovered the landscape architecture studios in an adjacent wing of the college. The projects on display in the studio appeared to combine Ryan’s great interests and shortly after, he enrolled in the Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning program.

After graduating with honors and a degree in landscape architecture, Ryan accepted a position with a national-practice design firm in Jackson Hole, WY where he worked on several resort and mountain-planning projects and was involved in site design, planning, construction documentation and implementation.

In 2004, He transferred to Asheville, NC where he was involved in a variety of roles including project landscape architect, project manager and lead project designer.

In early 2008, Ryan teamed up with a former colleague, Stephen Wyda, to create Vision Design Collaborative, where he could further explore his interests in low-impact design, environmental planning and project visualization.

Ryan is married to a lovely wife and enjoys spending time with his four children. He also actively serves in his church and has participated in various civic organizations and programs.
